DocsDF at the 1st documentary filmmakers national encounter
From March 19th to 23rd, the 1st documentary filmmakers national encounter took place during the Contra el Silencio Todas las Voces Video & Film Festival, at the cultural university centre.
With 25 states represented, the encounter gave the opportunity to reach important reflections over the way documentary filmmaking is developing all around the country.
Through diverse round tables with the presence of several institutions and media, such as CUEC UNAM, Canal 22 and IMCIN among others, important matters were discussed in order to enrich the documentary area, as the educational and formative issues of the young filmmakers and the institutional role in this area, the production processes, both independent and with government support, exhibition and distribution, from communitarian cinema clubs to mass broadcasting.
The encounter reached important advances towards the creation of a documentary network throughout the country, as well as very punctual proposals in order to improve the way in which the creative process, production and distribution of documentaries are held at the moment.
Besides the active participation of DocsDF at the round tables, the RED Doctubre was presented, a documentary exhibition network that seeks to widen the spectre of screenings all over the country during October and also the Latin Side of the Doc, international documentary market which will be held during the DocsDF in November.
